November 23, 2008
- Beginning Nov. 23, 2008 the U.S.P.S. will require Move Update
(including NCOA) processing on all Standard Class Mail as well as 1st Class Mail.
- In addition, the minimum frequency of Move Update
processing will change from 185 calendar days to 95 days.
In other words, your mailing file will need to be run against the
U.S.P.S. file every three months or so.
- These standards will result in better address quality and reduce
the amount of undeliverable mail. In turn you will realize
greater savings in postage.

- This design change will enable the U.S.P.S. to utilize the Flats
Sequencing System (FSS) to increase the efficiency and speed
of Flat Mail delivery.
